Single Gaze And Fell Swoop Trial Canberra Friday
31 January 2017

Canberra's two best gallopers will line up against each other in Friday's 900m Open trial at Canberra.

Group 1 winning Canberra mare Single Gaze and high-class sprinter Fell Swoop are both preparing for Autumn campaigns.

Trainer Nick Olive says Single Gaze’s autumn programme will be finalised following the test.

Single Gaze had her first trial 11 days ago at Canberra and impressed with race-rider Kathy O’Hara in the saddle.

Cruising to a 1.5L win, Olive described the mare’s work as her best ever and she appears firmly on track for her big-race assignments.

Fell Swoop's trainer Matt Dale has indicated the Lightning Stakes at Flemington or the Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield will be the gelding's immediate target.

The trial will be run following the last race at Friday's Canberra meeting and will attract a stack of interest.
