Aged Pensioners: $5 (available on day of event)

Members: General admission is included in membership
Members' Enclosure: $50 - does not include the $25 Admission fee (Only members may purchase Members' Enclosure Tickets - limit 2 tickets)
The Group 3 Mercedes-Benz Canberra Black Opal Stakes is Canberra's premier race day. The inaugural Black Opal Stakes in 1973 was won by Rich Reward.
Now, in its 45th year, the day is one of the more important Autumn race days on the calendar. The Black Opal Stakes program includes the tab.com.au Canberra Cup. The eight race program includes; the $300,000 Mercedes-Benz Canberra Black Opal Stakes (Group 3), the $200,000 tab.com.au Canberra Cup (Listed), $130,000 (Canberra) National Sprint (Listed) and the $130,000 Canberra Guineas (Listed). Race nominations for all races close on Tuesday 28th February 2017 at 11am, the full racing program is available under the racing drop down menu.
The action takes place both on and off the track at Thoroughbred Park on Mercedes-Benz Canberra Black Opal Stakes day. Enter the Myer Fashions on the Field competition for the best prizes in the region. Please note that the Myer Fashions on the Field competition has strict guidelines for each category entry. Members: Members only are permitted to purchase up to 2 (two) additional Members' Enclosure tickets. (All prices include GST). Any member who joins within 2 months of any major race meeting is not entitled to purchase additional Members’ Enclosure tickets. Please note price below does not include general admission.
Lost membership cards will incur a $35 administration fee. Cards will not be replaced on race day.
Public car parking available for $5 per vehicle. Members park for no charge in Members Only specified areas.
ACTION Buses will operate throughout the course of the day, stopping directly out the front of the racecourse on Randwick Road. ACTION route 951, 952 and 956 will operate from Belconnen and Civic along its usual route, with a detour down Randwick Road for racegoers. Free shuttle services to Dickson and Civic will operate on a loop after the races from 5pm to 7:30pm.
Please note that NO alcohol can be brought through the gates and Thoroughbred Park reserves the right to conduct bag searches. Patrons can bring a picnic lunch with them to eat on the lawns or one of the many open areas.
