Thoroughbred Park, home of the Canberra Racing Club, races 25 times per year and includes the TAB.COM.AU Melbourne Cup Race Day and the Mercedes-Benz Canberra Black Opal Stakes/TAB.COM.AU Canberra Cup race day. Membership to the Club entitles you to a variety of facilities and benefits and offers great savings. You may join as a member or renew your membership or access your membership details online. Membership is offered on an annual or 3 year option. The 3 year option offers 3 years membership for the price of 2.
Member (Full) – The annual subscription of $90 (30-59 years of age) entitles the member to one membership card and a member's associate card may be purchased for $80. A 3 year option*(conditions apply) is available to Full members for $180 and an associate for $160.
Senior Member – People 60 years and over can join the Club as Senior Members for an annual subscription of $60 and can purchase a member's associate card for $50. A 3 year option*(conditions apply) is available to Senior members for $120 and a member's associate for $100.
Young Member – People between the ages of 18 and 29 years can join the Club as Young Members for an annual subscription of $60 per year.
Member's Associate - A Member (Full) or a Senior Member may purchase an additional card for an associate which will provide access to member facilities on race days. Not available to the Young Member category. Voting rights and the purchase of members tickets are not applicable for the member's associate card holder. Member's Associate cards are not sold seperately and may only be purchased with a Full/Senior membership.
All prices include GST. All membership subscriptions are due on 1 July each year.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP AT THE CANBERRA RACING CLUB
Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand
Members have full use of the Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand at all times provided they meet the required dress standard. The Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand contains the Winning Post Bar, Thoroughbred Club, Black Opal Room and the members' grandstand seating.
Winning Post Bar – Ground Floor Level
The Winning Post Bar provides light refreshments, tabcorp facilities, and full bar facilities. This bar is open to the public for standard race meetings however is reserved for members and member's reserve ticket holders on Black Opal Stakes/Canberra Cup Race Day and Melbourne Cup Race Day.
The Thoroughbred Club- Level 1
The Thoroughbred Club is open to members and associate of a member card holders and member day ticket holders on feature race days. Full Australian Prices Network screens, tabcorp facilities, and full bar facilities are available. The Thoroughbred Club is open Saturday and limited public holidays and is open to members and social members on these days. Light food options and bar facilities are only available feature race days. Opening times are 11.30am-5pm with extensions to accommodate earlier or later race schedules.
Black Opal Room- Level 2
The Black Opal Room is a fully catered venue which offers lunch from a seasonal menu, full bar and tabcorp facilities. On non-feature race days Members may reserve tables in the Black Opal Room for a booking fee of $25. Guest Passes can be purchased from the Administration Office. FREE MEMBERS' CAR PARK - This facility, situated at the northern end of the grounds and is available to all members. Members must present their current Membership card to gain access to this car park.
DRESS REGULATIONS – Please note that dress regulations for admittance to the members reserve and Queen Elizabeth Stand are as follows: Badge and ticket holders are expected to maintain a suitable dress standard in keeping with the dignity of the stand. Gentlemen’s standard is neat casual dress, with collared shirt unless worn under a sports coat and appropriate footwear. Thongs, shorts, running shoes and singlets are unacceptable (dress jeans allowed). Women’s standard is neat and casual.
NOTE : Windcheaters, parkas, tracksuit tops, thongs, sneakers or running shoes are not considered a suitable standard. Notwithstanding the above, the Club reserves the right to exercise discretion regarding dress.
MEMBERS GUESTS TICKETING
Non-Feature Race Days - Members may purchase day tickets to the members’ stand for their guests at a cost of $10 on non-feature days (Maximum of 4 tickets). Non-members may purchase a day ticket for $15 per person.
Feature Days - MEMBERS ONLY may purchase 2 members stand tickets for guests for $50 each. This does not include admission into the course. Please contact the office during business hours to obtain costs for the relevant feature days i.e. Melbourne Cup Race Day and Black Opal Stakes/Canberra Cup.
*New members joining two months prior to a feature race meeting are eligible to purchase up to 2 guest passes. New Members joining after the two month cut off date prior to a feature race meeting are not eligible to purchase additional guest ticketing to the members' area and are not eligible for any other specials offered to current members. RACEDAY FACILITIES – The club provides direct telecast of interstate events on race days. An ATM is located in the Winning Post Bar and an Eftpos facility is available at the TAB outlet in the Winning Post Bar. ATM's are available in the walkway from the betting ring on Melbourne Cup day and Black Opal/Canberra Cup race days.
BLACK OPAL ROOM TABLE ALLOCATION - Available tables are offered for a booking fee of $25 to members and dining patrons on non-feature days. On feature race meetings, available tables are on offer to purchase via a ballot system. Ballot Forms are available in the Membership booklet and must be filled in and returned to the Club by the date listed on the form. Permanent table holders may renew annually.
RECIPROCAL MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENTS – Please see the right column for the document on recipricol agreements with participating Clubs.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - is held in October each year. Special business at this meeting in the form of a notice of motion must be lodged with the Secretary no later than 42 days prior to the meeting.
VOTING - In accordance with the Club's Constitution 37(d) "A member, other than life members, is not entitled to vote at any general meeting of the Club unless:-
(i) The member had paid the amount of the annual membership subscription payable in respect of the then current financial year on or before 31 August of the current financial year; and
(ii) The member has held continuous membership for at least 12 months immediatley prior to the occasion on which it is proposed that the member might vote; and
(iii) Any other moneys due and payable by a member to the Club has been paid to the Club within 28 days of that money becoming due and payable."
ELECTION OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS - In accordance with the club's Constitution a committee member candidate "....must be a financial member of the club for at least 12 months immediately prior to the time of nomination" and must comply with all other terms in the constitution..
